Filling systems require controls that can be set up by the filling hoppers so that the driver can decide which bin or silo to fill when delivering materials. The control system can also be placed in a location away from the hoppers, e.g. in the office of the plant supervisor.
The control system for automated filling of materials into silos consists of a PLC control unit built into a separate cabinet with the user interface for the filling process built into the front plate.
The control cabinet also holds motor circuit breakers and relays for the individual components of the system including the main disconnect device and emergency stop.
The control system is designed for automatic as well as partially manual operation and includes a feature where the plant's conveyors etc. run automatically until they are empty both during manual and automatic operation.
When installing the cabinet outdoors, Haarup offers a hot-dip galvanized cabinet with heating elements to keep the controls free from dirt, snow and water.
The filling control system can also be used to control inclined conveyors and distribution conveyors.
